This delightful 19th century cottage is situated within the village of Lowick, 5 miles inland from the Heritage Coast and directly opposite Holy Island. It is fully equipped to a high standard, providing an excellent base from which to discover the secrets of the County of Northumberland. Sporting interests are well catered for with a wealth of un-crowded golf courses, sea or river fishing, riding , cycling and walking. The famous 63 mile St. Cuthberts Way from Melrose to Holy Island passes nearby. There are two wonderful pubs in the village providing excellent food, beer and refreshments. There is also a village shop, art gallery, tea room and pottery, all within walking distance. |

The coastline, which is scattered with spectacular castles such as Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh, provides some of the finest beaches with miles of golden sand and picturesque fishing villages, much of the area being designated as of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Northumberland is a beautiful, unspoiled county, known as ‘The Secret Kingdom’. A 20 minutes drive away is Alnwick castle where Harry Potter was filmed, together with the fantastic children friendly Alnwick Garden with spectacular water cascades. The Scottish borders are nearby, steeped in history from turbulent battles and local culture. The charming and unique borderlands have many magnificent stately homes to visit, many pretty villages to explore with a backdrop of the Cheviot Hills. If you like country walks you will be spoilt for choice, fells, market towns, and coastline beaches. A drive or train journey to Newcastle or Edinburgh, which are only an hour away. This is a perfect opportunity to visit these vibrant cities with plenty to do and see. Both cities are noted for their shopping, leisure facilities, quality cuisine and nightlife. To the north, the River Tweed meanders through glorious countryside, entering the sea at Berwick, famous for its Elizabethan defence walls and remarkable architecture.
